Welcome to the Men of Words Podcast! This is a platform for conversation with successful people about Mental Health. Our aim is to speak to males at the top of their fields across sport, business, music and anything in between to hear stories of adversity, failure, success and the Mental Health journey throughout. Opening up about these issues is historically not our strong-suit as males and that is the area we are hoping to have some affect. Liam (Murph) and Michael (Muff) are long time friends with intersecting journeys through the highs and lows of Mental Health, having had personal and professional relationships for years and many conversations like the ones we are choosing to have with these elite performers.Our goal is a simple one. If we can motivate someone to have a conversation about their mental health, be it with friends, family or a professional, then we have achieved our goal. Hey everyone, welcome to another episode.
Today’s ep brings us the 2nd of the legends behind Keep it Cleaner, the health & wellness community & app, our guests is the the partner-in-pilates to Steph Claire Smith & CEO of their hugely successful business - Laura Henshaw.
Laura is an author, speaker, podcast host and even snuck a law degree in there somehow! She’s an incredibly driven person and in the chat you’ll hear how self-aware she is, though it took some work which we she dives into as well.
I think this is an important chat to hear about the difficulty of life with a public persona. It is a reality of what Laura & Steph have created but it doesn’t make it an easy thing to deal with, Laura talks through some of her experiences with this and ho hard it is to see past it when it’s happening to you.
